Prevent Diaper RashThere are quite a few different types of diaper rashes that your baby can attract and the best cure for diaper rash is actually prevention. Preventing diaper rash is not always possible but the following tips will help aid in keeping your precious baby clear of rashes. 1. A recurrent diaper rash may be the sign that your baby needs to use another brand of diaper. You might have to switch from one type of disposable to another or switch from cloth to standard, etc. Some parents prefer to home-launder their baby's diapers. If this is the case then rinse them with a half a cup of vinegar or any type of diaper rinse that you may like instead. If you really want to go the distance, then boil the clothes in water for about 15 minutes. 2. Diaper rash is sometimes the result of the baby's bottom always being covered up. You may want to allow for more air to hit your baby's skin. Place your baby on a few folded diaper cloths or your own personal towels, make sure that the bedding underneath is water proof, and allow your baby to even sleep this way if possible. Attempt to allow moisture to escape the when the baby is wearing disposable diapers by poking holes through it. However, keep in mind that this will encourage more frequent diaper changes. 3. By limiting the amount of irritants, you can aid in preventing diaper rashes. For starters, your baby's diapers should be changed as often as possibleso that the irritants of urine and feces can be cleaned up immediately. In addition, be cautious of the brand of wipes that you use. They may contain ingredients that irritate your baby's skin. Simply move from one brand to another to find the wipes that do not induce irritation. The same goes for baby powders and lotions. 4. When a baby pees, the urination will reach all over their skin which may cause diaper rash. A way to protect areas of the baby's skin from this urine is to spread a thick protective layer of ointment on the baby's bottom after thoroughly washing it. These 'blocking' spreads may be A & D, Desitin, zinc oxide, Nivea, etc. click to read more about baby care for more, click here
